England - Yorkshire Dales to Lake District

St Mary's Church is on the Studley Royal Estate and was completed in 1878. It was designed in a gothic style and built using money originally put aside to ransom relatives and friends held hostage in Greece. Their holiday had ended in tragedy in 1870 when Greek soldiers attempted to rescue them.
